#32 - Obama Vs. Free Speech - Truth Squads and Censorship

Why does Obama seem to hate free speech? He tries to shut down Freddoso and Corsi when they have radio interviews, he gets Missouri police to arrest people who run "erroneous ads", and now I hear his YouTube comments are closed or moderated. What are you afraid of Senator?

The "authorities" would like to CRACKDOWN on Free Speech, or more precisely, the 1st Amendment. Let's get one thing straight here. This is a government FOR and BY the People. It is the People who are the AUTHORITIES here, NOT public servants. Public servants work for me, I won't capitulate to their demands. Besides, they took an oath to uphold the Constitution, didn't they?

The 1st Amendment is about putting people in jail for saying certain things; deleting YouTube comments is a poster's options and is hence very different. I kinda sympathize because there are so many nutcase trolls (extremists of all kinds) who pollute what is supposed to be a forum by just being obnoxious. Also, it was not Obama himself who deleted the comments, it was his campaign workers, who probably value free speech much less than he as a constitutional scholar does.

He might have the authority to INITIATE a treaty. Whether it becomes valid, or not, is another matter. He has NO AUTHORITY to deny a citizen of their fundamental rights. No government agency does. You're right about the 2nd Amendment. We should have taken-up arms against our oppressors long ago. Our grandfathers should have, but were overwhelmed by a very effective propaganda ministry at the time. Someday it will happen.

Obama doesn't have the authority

He does have the authority to initiate treaties. This treaty violates the constitution but we cannot challenge it because the US initiated it.

The time has come to see todays politcal climate as a war. Leftist revolutionaries have stripped us of our very way of life. Protest and talking time is over, acts of war can only be combated by acts of war. This latest assault exactly why we have a 2nd article, let us use it.

Take the Truth Squad for example. I'm not surprised the free speech campaign went ahead, for the same reasons that fearful opinions would've flourished in regard to the perceived ramifications of his policy.. I think it's endemic to America that these extremes exist, yet people still feel that they are being robbed of a future if Obama had a politically driven idea of damage control. That's the real world... Obama's values expressed through politics is what I continue to see.
