This plays during the final battle with what I believe to be Zarathustra. I've never played the Xenosaga games, which is why many others didn't make the list. I heard this one from another Top 100 RPG Battle Themes list, and that's how I heard it.

Oh lord was this boss a bitch until you figure out his pattern. Thank god the music rocked, otherwise I wouldn't have had the patience to spend a half hour beating him. Great List!

I definitely love the whole song but from 2:23 onwards it is just too epic for my little heart to handle. I feel like the whole universe is collapsing before my own eyes.

@blargityish I used to have a lot of trouble with this argument. Xenogears is a classic, Xenosaga is a cult hit. I loved Xenosaga with all of my soul too, but it's not mainstream. No matter how good the story and the music are (and both are A+), the way it's told (VERY long cutscenes) and the battle system (which left something to be desired in all but 3) is just going to turn most people off. 3 was the only truly great, well rounded installment, but that comes last.

Well, there was Pied Pipier, but I doubt that counts as a game in the series.

i wonder if they will make the next 2 games they promised, it was about to be 6 games, xenogears, xenosaga1,2,3, xenogears and another xenogears.

@Harixen You can also let your PS2 get modded with a chip so it can play every region as well as selfburned DVDs (there are some pretty good Undub cracks for various JRPGS which let you play with the original Japanese audio, if you like that better than English dubs). Just google it, I'm sure you'll find a good offer. It was one of the best investments I made in my life. :)

@blargityish Aye, I'm currently contemplating doing so, thankfully spending the cash on an NTSC PS2 shall not be a problem, as a good mate of mine has one lying around. I may just steal his for a bit!

@blargityish I'd honestly love to play Xenosaga. Sadly, I wasn't gifted with Namco's favour, as I'm not a resident of either Japan or the USA.

Over here in Europe we only got Xenosaga II, which was an absolutely abysmal business choice on their part, as the game itself was, of course, a sequel, hindering any and all enjoyment anyone could get out of the overly long cutscenes that plagued the game.
