This is a story about an everyday diver and a night dentist. Their kisses are always good-bye kisses. He is a diver and he has to dive. She is tired and has to sleep. But there are no silent places in her dreams. And a big ship is slowly sinking in the rain. Nobody knows when it is time for the last cigarette.


Priit Pärn (born 26 August 1946 in Tallinn), an Estonian animation filmmaker, is one of the most important figures in the history of animation films. Pärn's style is characterized by black humour, playful surrealism and a unique graphic style.

His retrospective will be held at Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media (Japan) after at Kobe Art Village Center and Aichi Arts Center (Japan) in 2010.

Some films were also screened in the open lectures on Priit Pärn by Koji Yamamura at Tokyo University of the Arts in September 2010.

毒とユーモア、引用と謎、知性とパンク。大胆で不思議な色合いと独特ともいえる描線で作り出される愛すべきキャラクターと不条理の世界は、ある時は非現実と現実を、東と西­を、表層と深層を、駆け巡る。エストニア・アニメーション界はもちろんのこと、20世紀〜今世紀の世界のアニメーション史に重要な位置を占めるプリート・パルン傑作選が、 2010年の神戸アートビレッジセンター、愛知芸術文化センターに続き、2011年8月山口情報芸術センター（YCAM）にて開­催されます！
ドキュメンタリー2作を含む、デビュー作から最新作まで全10作を見渡せる、プリート ・パルン初体験の方には特におススメのプログラムです☆

また、山村浩二氏による2010年9月の東京藝術大学大学院映像研究科公開講座「コンテンポラリーアニメーション入門：プリート・パルン特集」にても、『パルノグラフィ』­等数作品が特別上映されました。
