FF12 - how to get level 99 fast & early (stage 8-3: Garamsythe Waterway)

Level 99 in FF12 in under 50 hours with little story progress? Seems impossible, doesn't it, considering you don't have access to the embroidered tippet? What's more, it's not just one character that gets this, but 4 and it's doable in potentially 40 hours at a very fast run! This video is comprised of 8 stages with typically 3 parts in each stage. Stage 8 is the longest stage, longer than all others before it combined. It's also where you get level 99. These level 39 enemies could defeat Vaan in 2 hits (they do 800 damage) and, even with the "focus" license, they take 8 or so hits to defeat this early. The solution here is the same as that in stage 7: immobilize. This is the perfect example as to the power of immobilize. As before, if immobilize fails, run away immediately. Unlike with dive talon where you can use hi-potions if you get hit, hi-potions, even with all potion lore licenses, won't restore enough HP since these enemies do 800 damage when hi-potions will restore only 600 at the most. To shave off time, consider using the tips mentioned in the last segment of this series. Disable is too risky until about level 40 at the extreme earliest, and it lasts only half as long as immobilize. With all time savers used, level 99 likely accessible with only 40 hours on the game clock.

what part r u on????? and how effective will a flame stalf be on these monsters???

I would advise against using a staff or any magic beyond immobilize and, later on, disable. The burning bow will make these enemies easily handleable as they'll eventually drop down to needing just 3 hits to defeat. I'm assuming you mean where in the story by "what part" - I've just completed Nalbina Dungeons, returned to Rabanastre so that Balthier and Fran left, but haven't dealt with Old Dalan yet.

hey ulillillia, i was wondering if there r certain ways you can raise your chances for a critical hit (armor, weapons, magic, etc)?

Unfortunately, I don't know. It's also been over a year since I last touched FF12 as well....

I tend to do the "research" for games before I play them to map out what items I am going to get when or what the best equipment as at certain points, but I must admit that this is GENIUS! I would have never thought of using Garamsythe to level up, although I did think of fighting the wild saurian to get the heavy armor it drops.

You can't get the heavy armor from the wild saurian just outside of Rabanastre in the Estersand. You can only get it from the wild saurians across the river toward Mosphoran Highwaste, the bone mail. At the same time this part is accessible (right after getting the dawn shard), the maximillian, golden skullcap, and other top-rank or near-top-rank items become accessible as well, if you know how to get them and can face the high level enemies there. i think i've found another frog 3rd one. at 5:41 there is a small area to the right. go there and a frog jumps out of nowhere.

You won't be able to encounter such enemies without making a lot more story progress. It will start to take a while to level up, 70 minutes for the last level.

@ulillillia im lvl 60 now and was wondering if there is any faster places besides the sewers. like for lvl 60/70 creatures? thanks :)
