Why would Joseph Smith lie about the things he taught? What was in it for him? He go no money, nothing. Any person would not go through what he went through for nothing. There was a reason, to bring forth the restored gospel of Jesus Christ back to the Earth.
That is true though. He never made anything out of his testimony (except for being a mayor in Illinois). He was jailed, beaten, watched as his followers suffered the same fates (even death), and was even murdered. I remember a line from that movie that came from a journal entry made by the prophet, "I don't know why these people follow me to Kirtland even they are bring nothing, but sorrow to them. I know I travel to Kirtland because it is God's will to do so."

Well, you know how he had all that when he was young too. So I think a 14 year old would have said I lied after all it. Very good!

This is so true is not even funny. That was great using the Work and The Glory video. Joseph Smith was a true prophet.

Congrats! You just took took over as the stupidest aurgument! You must not have realized that he was persecuted from day 1 after his visions. I'm pretty sure Smith didn't practice polygamy when he was 14. So your logic fails. Thanks for your comments though.

This is the stupidest argument, I've heard. If he had so many wives he had to keep up the deception to protect his family. Also all men know they are going to die, he simply wanted his Lie to outlive him. And so it has, that doesn't make it true. There are people who beleive in Wica after 1000s of years with no proof. Joseph Smith is in hell with his father, the father of lies Lucifer.

Indeed. What was in it for him? If I made up a tall tale I would indeed fess up after the first tarring and feathering. The fact that he went on despite these persicutions, and the fact that he went willingly to Carthrige Jail knowing he was going to die are just two proofs that he was who he claimed to be.
