Well, I think is an speed and confort question! If you can see at Rafael Aghayev Kumites, he always has both arm down or in his knees, even I in some of my Kumites I assume that position, also can be a self confidence in our skill!!!

@Stian1342 Yeah, I agree with you; it doesn't make sense. Maybe they're trying to invite a head attack in and counter under with timing? Or maybe it's just easier to sneak punches in when they are so low and not seen.
Sport kumite... okay, maybe it works sometimes. Real life, no dice lol.
