  • I got Salamander for the MSX and the Arcade. The Famicom version is great.

  • It took me a few seconds to figure out what game this was but when I looked at the title screen I remembered the game EXACTLY:

    LIFE FORCE!

    I'm surprised you didn't do the "Konami code"(U, U, D, D, ,L, R, L, R, BA START) for the 30 ships cheat. Hell I'm surprised I REMEMBERED it!

  • wow, this is a lot like Gradius. Gonna check it out, thx for the gameplay man

  • The Gradius, Nemesis, Parodius games are my favourite shmups on the Famicom.

I am from the Netherlands and I do own a Japanese Famicom system with a couple of multigame carts and also quite a few originals.

    Love Gunnac for example.

  • game looks simple

  • Actually it's called Life Force in the U.S. But you're right about Konami using the same sound engine from Contra in a lot of their games. Konami was one the best third party game software companies in the days of the Famicom/NES, and a lot of their games for the system still remain as classics to this day!

  • Great video! I just got this game in the mail yesterday from ebay, and you're absolutely right, it's a great game! It's one of the best shooting games I've ever played!

  • Wow, I was just about to record my run through the US version of the game(Life Force). Sucks I'm stuck with that, though, because the game limits your number of Options to 2(dumb), and the ending is absolute crap(just a static Konami logo). The Japanese version gives you many different endings depending on how many continues you use and gives you 3 Options(it ain't the usual 4 Options, but it still helps to have that extra Option).

  • A great shooter, I love the blend of side & overhead perspective in this game. I prefer this to Gradius II.

  • great sounds indeed
