Harry Autar - Naija bietje nadia

Harry Autar (Real name: Somai Autar) was born in Surinam, Paramaribo on March the 18, 1922.
He was an ambulance driver at the Academic Hospital in Paramaribo. His interest for music and singing started at an early age, through this early interest he had developed his own unique style and eventually decided to start singing and composing his own music.
Harry Autar was and still is well known among the Baithak-Gana listeners in Surinam, Guyana, Trinidad and The Netherlands.

De heer Harry Autar is geboren op 18 maart 1922 te Paramaribo Suriname.
Hij is van beroep ambulance chauffeur bij het Academisch Ziekenhuis te Paramaribo en is op jeugdige leeftijd begonnen zich te interesseren voor zang en muziek.
Door deze interesse heeft hij zich een eigen stijl ontwikkelt en is daarna ertoe overgegaan zelf gezangen te componeren.
Geruime tijd geniet hij reeds grote bekendheid onder de Baithak-Gana liefhebbers in Suriname.
