Recorded in 1961 by Etta under the close supervision of Leonard and Phil Chess, "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" is a great example of how the addition of strings to a vocal track can enhance the sound. The music was composed by Duke Ellington in 1940 and was called at first "Never No Lament". Bob Russell added lyrics a little later and the song became "Don't Get Around Much Anymore".
