Highlights of Oakton Cougar Varsity Football '05 Virginia Division 6 AAA State Champs. They are in the Burgandy with White #s or White with Burgandy #s.
With 1 or 2 exceptions, all of the offensive plays that are cut off before they finished were for touchdowns.
The team they beat for the state title (Landstown with Percy Harvin) was nationally ranked and had a 27 game winning streak. Very few (other than the Oakton players and coaches) thought they had any chance of winning!
Thanks to Coach Joe Thompson and his staff for all that they did to make this happen!

It was a great game, and Oakton won 30 to 18. The game was closer than the score would indicate.

I am the father of Jeremy Rudolph. He was one of the defensive captains of the team (#58). He played defensive end and occasionally tackle. I filmed all of the games, Jeremy helped to edit this video. Good luck at Oakton!

that year was alll about keith payne.....without him they wouldnt have gotten so far

I understand why you feel that way. Keith had a great year, but football is a team sport and Oakton played as a team all year. Keith was surely part of that team but no one can win a state championship alone. I watched every play of every game and can say without a doubt that this was a CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM.
