"Joel & Ethan Coen - The Works" has been the most difficult director tribute I've made to date. Not just because of their massive filmography, but because of the vast range of themes and genres their films cover. Their films range from something as light hearted and comedic as "Intolerable Cruelty" to something as dark and dramatic as "No Country For Old Men." Balancing these ranges of genres and themes proved to be the most difficult part of creating this tribute. So I decided to create a tribute that focused on both the comedic and sadistic qualities of their films. Having been a huge fan of the Coens for years now, I feel that this tribute I've made defines the thematic nature of their films in both a clear and entertaining way. I hope you all enjoy this!

As for my next director tribute, here's a clue: "I rule!"

Well I get that Burn After Reading had no where to go in the story, but the thing is that I really like the movie, and I fell in love with the characters and the world that accompanies the characters, that I wanted to see a resolution with all the characters. I saw that with the agent, with Brad Pitt's character (Which I was surprised he died, I liked him...), and with George Clooney. It's just Frances McDormand that I wanted to see her negotiations instead of JK Simmons telling us she gave in.

I think Fargo's storyline is absolutely brilliant. It's like a modern day Shakespeare tale. And the film itself is beautifully directed and acted. I wouldn't say their films have unresolved endings, if you pay close attention to the story you will realise that in the movie burn after reading, the storyline would have had no where to go. Each character is either dead, or their storyline resolved at the end of the movie. I am not too familiar with a serious man, I have seen it but can;t comment.

Okay, I just finished Fargo. I have to say, aside from O Brother Where Art Thou, that has to be my favorite Coen Brothers movie. I will give it this distinction though: It's probably one of 2 Coen Brothers movies that actually had a satisfying ending. The other has to be Barton Fink. I love Joel and Ethan Coen's work, don't get me wrong! It's just, I don't know, they make good movies, but they have unresolved endings (A Serious Man, Burn After Reading, I'm lookin' at you!).

I know, and over the week, I've seen Barton Fink (Which is number 2 now, instead of No Country, and I've seen Burn After Reading (Which Replaces Raising Arizona) and A Serious Man. I just need to see Blood Simple, Miller's Crossing, The Hudsucker Proxy, Fargo, Intolerable Cruelty, The Ladykillers, and True Grit, and after that, I'll be ready for Inside Llewyn Davis in the fall.

    4. The Man Who Wasn't There.

    3. The Big Lebowski.

    2. No Country for Old Men.

    1. O Brother, Where Art Thou?

I need to watch more movies from the Coen Brothers, can anyone recommend any for me? I've yet to watch Fargo entirely, so I have that, and I own The Ladykillers, so any others I may have missed?
