  • Yeah. Like this guy is going to get a lawyer. The lawyer will say "pay up". That lawyer won't take a check, and will run the credit card on this guy. Lawyers take money up front. Good luck getting a lawyer, mr. know-it-all.

  • @cesar1963able - Actually if you have a strong case, lawyers will take your case against a collection agency on contingency. I know contingency is too big of a word for you to understand so I'll explain. That means they don't charge you until you win your case. I know because I won $1,800 from collection agencies that left illegal voicemails for me. Research before you post... if you don't it makes you look REALLY stupid.

  • She didnt give the mini miranda disclosure ILLGEGAL

  • I have to say this could very easily have been used maliciously: you called in to the creditors, gave the a phone number, and in return they gave you an address (which all you had to do was say "yes" to) and a name (again, just say "yeah, that's me"). Hopefully she got to watch this, if she wasn't lying then she was clearly confused as to what happened, as all it took was a phone number and out came personal info.

Gotta be illegal for call centers to do this, and if not we need a law change.

  • @LeSedici i told them over the phone i was in a psychiatric hospital for the next 3 months involuntary, after that they sold the debt to a new debt collector. I did the same to the new company, never get called anymore. This is the #2 secret to get debt collectors to stop calling

  • What happens when 2 people share a house phone. DUN DUN

  • She broke no laws. Pay your bills on time. Find a new hobby. Losers

  • The #1 secret to get debt collectors to stop calling:

(pay off your debts and stop spending money you don't have)

  • Why dont people focus on paying their bills before getting to collections rather then complaining about a collection agency. loser.

  • She violated FDCPA, but this is such an obvious lure, most judges would dismiss this case. And stating that this call is being recorded only counts for any conversation following that statement. Anything before that is inadmissable in court. That's why most good collection/servicing firms state that after verifying identity. Internet armchair lawyers....a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

  • I love all the "Pay your bills, deadbeat' comments. I hope that boy scout attitude makes you feel good at night when you're throwing good money after bad, while us deadbeats simply walk away from bad debt and lose NO sleep over it. It's only business for the banks, why should it be anything other than that for consumers? Deciding whether or not to pay bad debt is a business decision. You do what's in your best interest, otherwise you're an idiot.
