  • @dunklaw Again it can merely be a translation error, but they are referring to the same thing in 2 Kings 1.

  • @LDS4Life71 "Used as a title for the 'chief of the demons,' or Satan. ". Note - no scriptures sited in OT to back up these statements.

Baal.zebub. Note Baal = lord (as in land owner).

  • @dunklaw Bible Dictionary: Beelzebub: Name of a Philistine god. Used as a title for the 'chief of the demons,' or Satan. The Parisees referred to him as the 'prince of devils' (Matt 12:24. Jesus denied that he cast out devils by the power of Beelzebub (Luke11:14-20), See also 2 Kings 1:1-6 spelled Baalzebub which is the same thing.

  • @LDS4Life71 What is your definition of "Beelzebub" ? and are things spoken by the Pharisees authoritative?

  • @dunklaw Well the King Jame version quotes Christ using the word Beelzebub and demons. Whether the uninspired Greek monks got the translation incorrect or not is speculative. What is your point?

  • @LDS4Life71 what does "lord of flies" have to do with this since this philistine deity was one of seven - a purely Persian concept.

  • @dunklaw Matt 12:24

24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub,[f] the ruler of the demons.”

  • @dunklaw I believe it is a genuine text. yes.

  • @LDS4Life71 Again "devil and his angels" or messengers - no connection to demons.

  • @LDS4Life71 Revelation speaks of Satan & his messengers - this has no biblical connection to Demons.
