Kind of a rambly mini-review with only one cut. I'll post a full review really soon, and with lots more cutting!

The sword is hand forged and hand assembled by Hanwei. I bought it from Kult of Athena, a sword retailer.

Hot on the heels of the incredibly popular Tactical Wakizashi, the Tactical Katana has all of the same features and more! The Kat features a full-tang blade in 5160 high-carbon spring steel, plasma-coated for corrosion protection, and a checkered Kraton handle for a positive grip. The guard and the handle feature lanyard holes which, with the included ParaCord, provide a number of carrying options. The fiberglass scabbard construction eliminates water absorption and adds less than 10 ounces to the weight of the sword. With the accent on light and quick, one-handed operation is the norm but two-handed slashing power is available when needed.

  • @xman1967 Strange... Mine came real sharp. I don't know what to tell ya, but I know an Accusharp works really well!

  • I Held that exact sword :D

:( Too bad I wasn't there to be able to swing it around

  • @TheAlmightyGodKing

To be genuinely honest, I wouldn't have LET you swing it. You swung a bokken at Tom when he was talking to someone else and bust his lip open, there's no way I'll let someone that irresponsible wrap their fingers around my swords.

  • I will do a review of both the Tactical Wakizashi AND Tactical Katana sometime between Christmas and New Years! :D

  • @UrbanMusashi13

I can't wait to see it!

  • I have to ask about the blade being inside the scabbard: while placed inside, does it rattle or move a bit? I ask this because ideally there shouldn't be any gaps inside otherwise, it may dull the blade.

  • hahaha!:. "just get it!"

  • Nice; put a wet sword back in the saya.

  • Is the plastic grip on these tactical Paul Chen swords less likely to loosen and rust underneath than the more traditional nylon wrapped grip of Japanese swords?

  • That is exactly what I did! I love both of my tactial hanwei swords the tac wak & tac kat awesome blades at a good price! Also I have the hanwei banshee & it also rocks!
