The statistic that America won golds proves that they are the best in the world at something, not everything. That's the problem with making a statement filled with bias like yours, it's easy to disprove. I never said America is the best, or better than England. They're clearly not better at Soccer, or some other things, but they are the best in the world at basketball. That's the problem with nationalism, it leads to people overestimating their own country, and underestimating others.

Actually the fact that America hasn't won in soccer helps make my point. I've never argued that they have, or that they're really good at soccer, quite the contrary. The fact is the #1 sport in America is a sport that most of the rest of the world doesn't care about. Soccer is well behind our version of football, basketball, and baseball here, so our best athletes just don't play that sport as much. Thus, I expect them to get beat by lots of other countries that have soccer as their #1 sport

I can't get back something I didn't give. I didn't choose where I was born. I can choose not to resort to personal attacks though, or thinking that America is better than the rest of the world (it isn't). I can't get into the whole nationalism rah rah my country is better than yours stuff, if you do and like to insult people, that's your choice. America has its strengths and weaknesses when it comes to sports, just like other countries.
