The U.A.R. Pumas defensive unit goes through a warm-up led by Athletes' Performance specialist Simon Fathers as the team prepared for their Rugby World Cup match vs. Scotland. Fighting through poor weather conditions and critical injuries, the team battled the entire match, scoring a late try to secure a 13-12 win!

  • What was being achieved here is stimulation to the Neural system combined with reactive defensive 'movements' required for the latter upcoming rugby skills drills in this session . This was the final component of our Movement Preparation before athletes moved on to work with the Rugby skills coaches. Any injury is sad for the athlete and in our team it effects all of us. Unfortunately sometimes ballistic injuries happen in full contact sport like Rugby.

  • What was trying to be accomplished in this warm-up? You lost me. Bummer to hear about injuries. Sad for the athlete actually.
