These caterpillars are of the SPHINGIDAE family
They are the caterpillars of the Gardenia Bee Hawk Moth - Cephonodes kingi

The process of the caterpillar shedding it's skin and changing into a pupa is a truely amazing process.

The actual pupa is not the end colour you see in this video, it later changes colour to a dark brown.
