They say leaving your plastic water bottle in the car will heat it up and leach toxins into the water. Should you be concerned? http://infactvideo.com/

  • who cares if they're safe. Don't buy em.. Think of the environment.

  • @volleybrian wow...I was actually propagating this myth! I just took it as fact because a nurse told me normal water bottles can leach chemicals under certain (heated) conditions.

Being a skeptic I should have done some research before blindly accepting this myth.

You've given me some good starting points and Ill definately look into this further. Thank you.

just goes to show that bad information can leak in whenever you let your skeptic radar down.

  • @Azzataky Your friend should seek a medical doctor's opinion regarding their pain to determine a cause. That cause may be the food they consumed at McDonald's, but the point Brian is making in said video is that your friend could eat that same type of food anywhere else (or even at home) and have the same result. There have been numerous clinical studies on McDonald's and none of them concluded that McDonald's food caused pain when compared to placebo (non-McDonald's food of the same variety).

  • Well I think there is one problem about your vids. You make sometimes valid points, but you just dont trust anything, which is not proved by someone or science. But do you also think about a possibility of cheating while proving or disproving that something works? Like your video about McDonalds, I know a lot of people who eat McDonalds and they feel pain after it. Dont tell me that good food is supposed to give you a stomach pain. :P

  • hey buddy, i buy my aluminium bottle once, wash and refill it from the tap. it's super durable and i don't have to keep buying and recycling plastic bottles, which is the real gimmick, not the aluminium one. how brilliant is that. but i guess that must not matter to someone who thinks the garbage patch isn't an issue and it's a-ok to eat three fast food burgers a day as long as you don't hit the starbucks afterward.

  • bullshit facts

  • BPA free baby! Canada's doing it and they're ALL about disease prevention. Who do you work for and how much do they pay you? Oh the FDA, ok I see. LOL

  • @RachelHocquard93 fallacy detected.

  • I don't buy any think in plastic bottles. I don't buy anything in can unless i don't have a choice. I only buy a few things in bottles, example, wine

  • @imakecopper you are honestly just stupid. Pharmaceutical companies? Really? It is about plastics? It would have to be the petrochemical industry idiot. The main message of the video is the dose makes the poison. That is the truth about anything. Anything can kill/harm you at the appropriate. I don't drink bottled water to begin with, but I do know what he is talking about. The fact is, if I am thirsty, and the only water available is bottled, I feel safe to drink it.

  • @imakecopper So suddenly big pharma is sponsoring him? Not true. How about you do some research first before you assume things. I think that's also some sort of logical falicy, you assume that pharmaceutical companies are bad. You're pretty closed minded.

  • Student: "Yeah, I did this experiment and found the DEHA in the lab equipment leached into the water, not the chemicals in the water bottle."

Media: "WHAT?! Plastic water bottles leach DEHA into the water?! HEADLINE YO"
