The only reason we (the USA) are so interested in "helping" Myanmar is to get in and get our hooks into the country for thier oil.

Myanmar Oil and Gas topped export earnings with $2.16 billion from gas last year....and they've recently discovered some very lucrative offshore oil fields.

Myanmar has held off the rest of the world for long enough.. We aren't going to take it anymore.... .LET US IN!!!! Let's get our own country in order before we invade yet another country.

...Politics need to be separated from emotions...There is a difference between a dumb person and a dumb comment...Your sarcasm is not funny...You are merely speculating and using reductionism to come to your conclusions...Which country is not indebted, especially the poorer ones...Who are you citing when you claim it's a pattern? Or is it merely your opinion...

Im kind of amazed that you speak of national debt in a dismissive way. It has major implications. e.g. Britain had to sell its empire to the USA to help get them out of the war. USA financed European reconstruction plus interest. Only last year Britain payed off the debt. Brit troops deployed into Iraq may have helped get out of debt sooner. There are many other examples. Its like the Mafia running a protection racket

You didn't get it, qarnain06 states that each time the U.S gets involve to help, countries suffer, the help given has financial strings attached that extends for many years and they never get out of the debt. If you read history you'll see the pattern.

...Who gives anything for free...Of course aid has strings attached to it...I did not deny these facts...Just musing that the answers are just too simplistic...Its much more complicated than any one factor...
