i took this flight to sydney australia!!! LOVED malay airlines!!! and kuala lampur airport was awesome!!!! im soo sad to see malay not comin to arlanda anymore!! i Will be taking Qatar airways to sydney this year!

@WelZer666 The actual reason is that its economy class is usually 50% full (on average) and the flight had a rather higher than average breakeven load factor. Most of the losses were offset by its premium class. Nothing to do with loss here, it's just that the airline predicted that the route will operate on a loss basis.

I went twice through KL to go to Melbourne in 2009, too bad it closed down it was really the fastest it ever went to get to Melbourne from Sweden, and probably never will be quicker now that the line is closed down. I got to Melbourne in less than 22 hours both times. But it wasn't 747s when I went, 777s both times. Was full flight all times between Stockholm and KL. But KL to Melbourne it was almost empty, I had a whole mid row for myself... like a long couch to sleep on :)

Feels like the plane has been taxiing for a long time. But it's kinda nice for someone like me who has never been to Arlanda.

I read in a newspaper around one month ago that it's not enough people on the flights or at least not enough earnings for the route.
