A concrete example of what radiation does. This clarifies why there is some inherent leak of radioactive particles from nuclear reactor in standard operation.

  • Holes in the getter are absolutely normal I've seen it in tubes straight from the factory!

  • Are you serious dude? Ionizing and non-ionizing radiation are completely different subjects.

    Electromagnetic radiation inside of an electron tube is the same kind of radiation as the visible light around us... There's no nuclear radiation inside electron tubes!!!

    BTW, I have here in my hands a brand new, never used, Russian ECC82 tube that has similar holes in the metal layer... Where is your god now?

  • Not sure what to make of this with the fake Russian accent and all. I do however, have similar holes in my 2 JAN/Phillips 5AR4s in the getter coating. The strange thing is, they came that way, NOS.
