This video actually leaks a little bit into Chapter 2 where I buy my first weapon, the Line Gun. The choices at this early point in the game are just the Line Gun or the Javelin Gun. Having tried both extensively, I think the Line Gun gives you much more bang for your buck (literally) as its alt fire mode, the Timed Mine, renders the most powerful explosive in the game. This is an excellent boss-buster and is also great for crowd control.

By comparison, the Javelin Gun, although a fun toy, must be upgraded with power nodes to make it into a decent weapon. Once it has the SPC upgrade though which adds an explosion at the end of its alt firing electroshock mode, it can be used as a main weapon that will hold its own throughout much of the game. Its drawbacks are it is terrible at close range and the ammo drops for it are pitiful, as in, you'll be constantly coughing up a pretty penny to keep this baby in ammunition.

Speaking of ammunition, a special feat of derring-do ends this video which has me taking on the security lockdown area with NO ammunition. :D

You didn't collect any power nodes whatsoever during Chapter 1? You need at least one power node to get the Power Node Schematic in the Power Lock Room at the beginning of Chapter 2 (watch the next video). Otherwise, the Power Node Schematic will be automatically downloaded to the first store in Chapter 3.

the special ability for the javelin gun alows it to explode slack it is really worth it

Yes, I've experimented with all the weapons extensively. The drawback with the Javelin Gun is ammo is really hard to come by. The game simply does not drop you enough ammo to allow you to use it as your main weapon. So if you're going to do a Javelin Gun run, you not only have to buy ammo for it throughout the entire game but you also lose the benefit of selling spare ammo (because there's none to spare). So I'd say opting for the Javelin Gun is more of a fun factor thing.

:) Thanks... i did collect... but upgraded my stasis... getting used to the mine and stasis combo :) i saw ur entire dead space walkthrough kind of a bummer dat the game glitched on the last part... i made sure dat i stood away from the tentacles... if u remember dat is.... :) awesome walkthroughs... :)

When i first got this game i took too many bong rips and started playing it and it freaked me out i had to turn my PS3 off and called the store to see if i could return it. But i finally I saw ur Walkthrough...Let me tell u its gave me strength....Now i am playing....U rock....
