You really shouldn't have a bunch of people talking in your ear, besides maybe the actors. That's why you plan everything in pre-pro and hire a 1st AD.

thanks for the reply. I guess i'm going to do film studies along with media. But my school has only just started the film studies course so it will probably be poorly structured during lessons

Study media at college, thats what I'm currently doing and its about 50/50 practical and theory work - which is a pretty good ratio! Although you study more than filmmaking, this would be the best course to choose as it can lead to something more specific at Uni. Most college courses have not long started.
