A panel-style program on the topic of Energy and International Development. Recorded in Sydney, Australia on Tuesday 28 April, 2009 featuring three specialists - Dr Mark Diesendorf (University of NSW), Jack Whelan (Foundation for Development Cooperation), and Tendai Gregan (World Bank).
A courageous and important discussion. Dr. Diesendorfs unbiased comments about coal fired power plants and alternatives were particularly helpful. The facts he presented on the CO2 implications of uranium mining were things I had never considered. Dr Gregans explanation of why access to electricity is so fundamental raised a very important issue. Thank you for posting.
Dr. Diesendorf, would you consider biochar a valid form of carbon sequestration?
