it was our first time taking the canoe out to calaveras lake and boy was it a thrill we pulled out quite a few fish a few reds that were around 18 inches so we had to throw them back and a good handfu

@55destoyer Yes I'm actually going on a trip next weekend with my buddy Ty southerland host of 30milesout and yakntexas here on youtube, here's a few port o'conner, aransas pass, matagorda for sharks, rockport and port aransas. Right now reds are tailing in aransas pass for baby crabs!!! I'll be shooting sum video footage and posting it on my new channel "HookedUpFishinTv"
@55destoyer Oh yea sweet the good thing about calaveras is that the water is warm all year round cause if the power plant so the reds are always active are you going on a boat? If so I highly recommend you go to the wall and catch some live bait and throw in on a free line no weight let them swim and BAM!!! I never fish Braunig cus I've nevr had luck there
@TieOneOnFishingProd thanks going on a trip with some school friends next weekend to calaveras, choke canyon, and brauning to fish so thanks for the info i live in austin, tx so its a good couple hour drive
@55destoyer hey how's it going? We used worm, shrimp and silver and gold spoons. Really though the best bait is LIVE BAIT!!! hand sized pitch and talapia is the best you can use I've pulled a 36 inch red from this lake and a few weeks after this I saw a guy let his daughter pull in a 42 inch red on a hand sized pirch.
