Hideous new development at Charles Cross, totally detracts from the old church monument. I agree with the previous commenter that the only nice parts are the Hoe and Barbican. Classic remark from one tourist in Plymouth city centre: "If it weren't for the seagulls, you would never know you were at the seaside." And most of the time you don't even hear them above the roar of the fraffic.
