you dont think this is good for paintball? I dont like the typical sound of the gopro and i like the little screen on this one

@hahehuhe The Drift would work for sure, just need to keep it tight on the side of you goggles. If you have a helmet that would be ideal, you could mount it to the top of your head and it's still pretty slick that way. Plus you can strap a remote on your wrist and your laughing!

These cameras are designed to take on the challenges associated with many extreme recreational activities. However, paintball offers the potential for some high velocity impacts. It should fare well, but if it takes a point blank shot... it could do some damage and would not be covered under the manufacturers warranty.

You look at the GoPro HD Hero, as many people are using it in paintballing situations.

ok i do alot of outdoor vids for my channel, hunting shooting scouting and just really anything with the outdoors, my buddy from the UK told me about this camera and linked me this vid so my only two questions would be how would i go about finding where to purchase this camera, and does it have any audio beeps when zooming powering on off etc, and if so can you turn that option off, as for hunting applications the beeping would scare away the game we are hunting :o) thanks!

i ordered the drift Hd170 last week, got to test over the weekend.. Having used most POV cameras on the market, I have to say this was the worst product I have tested so far.. Video quality is poor in comparison to gopro footage.. Its too heavy to allow body worn apps, the build quality is cheap and tacky.. Only one thing to do, return and get a refund.. NOT a happy customer!!

i wonder how well it will stand up to paintball shots because i am thinking about getting it and mounting it to my paintball mask

@1gamoguy - In terms of silent recording, you unfortunately can't turn off the beeps when the camera is turned on and off, it emits a noise for both. If you are looking for a camera that can record completely sound free, while retaining audio you might be interested in the Oregon Scientific ATC9K - in addition to sound free recording, you can also turn off the LED recording light, so this may be a better bet. They are currently available for pre-order on our website to ship early Oct this year.
