Michael Steele is a two faced bastard, let him cry racism, and see who comes to his aid.
The republican Party is a bunch of White country club bastards who only care about the Bush dynasty. they are all nothing but plain scum . I was told when I first voted that I wasn't an American if I didn't vote Republican. Beck Limbaugh and Boehner are all just puppets.

And Palin is basically Paris Hilton -- she is a joke we like to watch, and is being used.
"...people do still think badly of black people unless the sound like Rhodes scholars...." -- I'd actually say that is more class than color. If a white kid, from the South, or speaks street (a Wegro!), etc and doesn't speak like a Rhodes, isn't getting an exec job either.

Lol! I wasn't really surprised that Rush did that. What disgusted me was millions of people defended him. Well, I guess I'm not that surprised either. What's infuriating is that these hypocrites now want to crucify Reid.

I think Reid just used the word "Negro" because it's the term that was used for most of his life. He was born in 1939.
I don't think he should step down and to be honest I don't think Michael Steele should either. I'm just appalled at Steel and the Republican party's hypocrisy. Most of the Republicans condemning Reid were the first ones to defend Rush Limbaugh's "Barack the Magic Negro".
This Reid thing seems like a distraction from Steele's recent snafu.

Lol! I agree. Reid used some pretty poor wording but aside from the politically incorrect language he was totally right. If Obama had been a couple of shades darker and spoke more like Jesse Jackson than an Ivy League graduate would have been elected? I don't think so. Would a black man stand a chance of getting a decent job if they spoke like George Bush or Sarah Palin? HELL NO.
It's sad but many people do still think badly of black people unless the sound like Rhodes scholars.

@A86 -- exactly, and it's all context. Reid was basically saying "we have a strong product to sell the voters", and thought Hillary was a weaker "product" -- it's all marketing. Obviously Steele meant nothing by "injun", but it's just great to throw the hypocrisy back.
I'm sure your parents are both proud and sad for America right now. Proud that it could get its act together and elect a black, and sad for all the same old crap being fired at him. And I'm a Crack'ah!

@CarMoves - I'm black and I agree. "Negro" is simply Spanish for "black". It was the actual legal term for black people until the late 70s/early 80s. My dad (born 1956) and my mom (born 1959) were legally classified as "Negro" and referred to themselves as such until they were young adults when the term "African-American" started to be used. Sometimes they still use the term "Negro" every now and then.
