Wild Jumping Carp On Illinois River

Asian Silver Carp have infested the Illinois River. The fish are migrating up the Mississippi River and can't be stopped. This video is pretty wild.

I've heard talk of making sterile males and releasing them to impregnate females who can't beat fertile eggs then.

Actually, they were introduced by some government agency to do a certain task, attack another species or clean up the river. They just got out of hand because they hoarde the plankton and starve out the native fish and grow to huge sizes.

Folks, there is a commercial fisherman in Peoria that says he markets these fish to Asian markets here in the US and make $200K last year.

Who has a commercial fishing boat for sale?

THis is wild! I'm wondering how they taste. Can you eat hem? I mean if the population gets too wild, can't we just get some corn meal and some hot sauce and take care of these. Chilean Sea Bass used to be called Patagonia Toothfish, a little re-branding and you could have a luxury item.

Why was the lady at the end throwing them back in? Especially when they kinda looked like they were still alive?

Look at 1:13 looks like electrodes putting a charge in the water, the fish are jumping because they are being electrocuted. Looks pretty cruel to me.
