  • Darnielle is a terrible vocalist in the same way that Bob Dylan is a terrible vocalist. His voice is an aquired taste that is perfectly suited for his music.

    As for a terrible lyricist, there is no way to contest that. If you can't see the beauty and strong emotions in his lyrics, then there's nothing I can do for you.
