THIS!! is the REAL 60's, No walk in the park on acid like so many younger people think it was.

They should have played riot footage at the dedication of the MLK memorial to show what he truly accomplished.
Too bad the cops didn't just surround the ghetto and let the savages burn and shoot each other

In Kansas City, the Italians, Jews and Irish store owners, stood on top of their stores downtown and shot at the hordes of angry, black rioters. It wasn't that much different than how Kansas City was in 1868, when Jesse James was alive.

@redmustang03 They also had a race riot in washington DC in 1919 now that was a sick riot

1968 was pretty much the worse year with RFK, MLK getting shot. The blacks rioting, the war in Vietnam and protests. Then then Nixon gets elected and has to deal with the mess. I mean you felt as if there was going to be a race war and America would implode. Thankfully it never did.

@trektune yes, you are correct. TET was a military dissaster for the Communists in South Viet Nam - after TET the Communist guerilla forces in the South were not a threat. But TET was a great propaganda victory for the Communists as Walter Cronkite and the Liberal American Media presented the so called "Uprising" as proof that Viet Nam war was lost and supposedly the PEOPLE in South Viet Nam were all for the Communists.

Well I am from El Salvador, and witnessed my family members being blown up, or disappearing only to find there tortured mutilated body the next day, which was done US sponsored troops, trained by US Generals, and giving the Government which was a military dictatorship Millions of dollars spent to send in more guns, bombs, helicopters, and men to come in try to wipe out the poor, who were only trying to get equal rights, and to stop the human rights violations that were going on.

Vietnam I look at as a draw, the NVA and VC were fought to a stalemate and they only defeated South Vietnam, in the end South Vietnam did itself in. But the Sixties were a different time, but the activists and everyone need to learn that this is 2011 not 1968, the world is a far different and far more dangerous place.
Many had their hearts in the right place but those who decided that becoming no better then those they claimed be against will always be a stain on that generation
