I would like to find a synonym for the Russian word "потрясающее", because it is the first and (so far) only one that comes to my mind when I hear songs like this... Mussorgsky was a genius! And Galina Vishnevskaya's performances take my breath away. I would like to know whether the orchestration is by Mussorgsky too.

Fleur, it is wonderful to hear this younger voice over the later (and extraordinary recordings). How good of you to present it.
(Or maybe it is the older voice, but I think not).

Yes, Vishnevskaya was, I think, one of the greatest interpreter of Mussorgsky romances (like Shostakovich's and Prokofiev's romances).
