@AdreasTheGreat haha you dont have to tell me about european point guards, I know rubio wasen't the best pg in europe dimitris diamantidis is, however rubio is still young and has a good team around him. Players can always develop through time, Steve nash was a less then average pg up until his third year with the mavericks. I am not dissing pete I am just saying rubio has room to grow and my first comment was based on appearance, nothing has to do with basketball

@tintin4561 look man,i watch rubio many years and i honestly say that he was nothing like top level player in euroleague!he was the 3-4 best player in barcelona!i do n't say he has no talent but his european gamestyle makes him look so smart in today's athletic but skill-less and smart-less NBA.even Lin seems very good player in today's NBA,well 20 years before would n't even curry the towels!the only common rubio-pete have is their hair and 2nd passing skills but pete was much better offensive!

@AdreasTheGreat well like it or not basketball today is a game based on athleticism, and technical defenses. Besides were going off topic, Pistol pete was a great player,very crafty and creative and he looks like ricky rubio, Whether rubio develops into a player like pete will be shown in the future.

@tintin4561 players were less athletic in 80's to but i don't think there are players like bird or magic now!jabbar was superstar in 80's to eventhough pass his prime u know!there were also many superstars like drj,gervin,moses,archibald,tho­mpson...do u think 36 years old wilt,who dominate prime jabbar,could n't stand now,especially with today's training?players like oscar,frazier,west,barry,reed,­havlicek,cowens,bing,thurmond,­hayes,mcadoo,monroe,maravich,l­ucas,walton...could dominate in any era

@tintin4561 players are more athletic due to much better training technic and of course steroids!comparing players from different eras based on athletisim is stupid.that does n't mean are better players!smarter and better skills?teams score 80-85 points this year not cause of better def but worst offensive skills.the game is based on 1 on 1 and def rules are in favour of fast and athletic players like lebron,wade...back then teams knew how to play together and the pick was in 80's-early 90's!

@AdreasTheGreat the fact is the game has grown and the players are more athletic, smarter and have greater skills. keep living in the past if you want but if you put an all decade team from the 60's and 70's they wouldent even hold players from the 80's 90's 00's jock straps.

@AdreasTheGreat of course magic shot such a great percentage he was way taller then the guy guarding him, and im not comparing rubio to magic, you cannot compare or critique any player in his first year. also my first comment had nothing to do with them as players but rather with their similar appearance. look at tape of jerry west, walt,elgin, tiny archibald all less then average dribblers with their left hand. even on defense they would never react to a wide open steal.

@tintin4561 man,u make it worst...now u put rubio's name next to magic!magic was great middle-range shooter(a lsot art in today's game),he made it almsot all the time,magic had >50%fg and rubio has 37fg%!how old are u man?who told u that players could n't dribble with left hand?rookie maravich was much better than rubio..no comparision!i put evey guard in 70's,they would call travel all the time!have u eve seen monore,frazier,oscar,maravich,­baylor,white,bing...there were many great ball-handlers

@AdreasTheGreat Am I from Spain? Wtf does that have to do with anything. Firstly in the 70's you would be considered a good player even though you couldn't dribble with your left hand. And the fact that the game is more technical makes it more difficult to be successful. You can't even make an argument about someone in his first year, and rubio might not be able to shoot but neither could magic johnson. the best pg of all time.
