CHICAGO -- Reducing abdominal obesity with the investigational diet drug rimonabant had a beneficial effect on metabolic profile, but did not demonstrate a significant reduction in percent atheroma volume on intravascular ultrasound, researchers reported here.
That's retarded. Obviously, you are not going to see this. Repeatedly, studies have shown that a reduced caloried diet, even when it leads to significant weight loss, does not do this. However, an extremely low fat diet WILL have this as an effect, as demonstrated by Ornish with published research. The trouble is, such a diet is hard to maintain with will power alone.
Try combining the two therapies. Likely, compliance will go through the roof and atheroma will be reduced.
