Here is a quick video of the 1987 Toyota Supra I'm building. It will be a cheap and easy project using a motor I've had and a 1987 Toyota Supra I just bought. The Supra is a hard top with a bad motor / blown head gasket. Plans are to put in a 350 Chevrolet Vortec 350 Motor with a 700R4 Transmission. I'll post pics and vids along the way so people can see how it's done. The car was purchased for $600 and the parts will be limited to $900. I'm trying to do this project for $1500 not including the cost of the engine. $75 has already been spent on paint and supplies. It'll have a black paint job with a red stripe down the center. So now there is $825 left to play with. Will be purchasing some steel to weld up braces for the motor and weld in patches for the transmission tunnel. The driveshaft will be done by a local shop and should run @$150. Stay tuned, the projects just beginning!

  • There is no way you gonna swap the 1jz with that chevy block, just rebuild it from the ground up with new cams, rods, pistons & it will be stronger than ever..the supra isn't a supra without that motor.

  • @Gshock714 The car originally came with a 7M engine, not a 1JZ. Not even turbo. The 350 is much faster than any 7MGTE I've encountered. Plus, it's a whole lot easier to fix and tune.

  • is it ready yet ?

  • @dnomaiDginK Yea it's ready. Not drove it much this summer. It's just so loud and gnarly, driving it is a huge red flag, just asking for the police to pull me over. Sidepipes are obnoxious.

  • is there a seats in the back?

  • @1timeonlyok Yes. The back of the Supra has dual seats and the rear is a hatchback.

  • I am thinking about doing this swap too. Rear end is nice and strong that is the best part, car is damn heavy though.

  • Man, if you live close me and willing to spend 100$ for paint and materials, I will help you paint w/o charge. It's kinda pain to see a nice car paint with a roller which I don't usually or have never seen done b4, except those real oldies wagon wheel car in the 40s and 50s.

  • @SR204G637MGTE the chevy smallblock is one of the most reliable motors ever made. wtf u think its been around so long. dont fix something that aint broke. simple is good

  • @RIEKSONE LOL are you retarded??? There is countless 7M's putting down well over 500hp on stock internals......Obviously you know nothing about that engine....Do your homework kid and come correct because I'm already tired of schooling you.....Next

  • @M3TurboE46

post a video of you making 500hp on stock block ill believe you

  • @Vacationtime247 I love GM's push rod engine's reliable and plenty of bolt on potential......Remove the EGR from the 7M and make sure that engine never over heat's and you can run over 500hp on the stock engine reliably for a long time....Dumb owners are the only one's who have trouble with them
