bbeamsss: This guy is a roofer in Cali who learned his trade in Germany, just like myself. He was likely torching 35 years ago when no-one here even knew this stuff existed. This technology came over to America from Europe about 15 years after it was in common use there and did not become popular until the early 90's here. He was taught right and did a full apprenticeship on this.
You trowel users will never outrun a German roofer using his foot and your backs will hurt from bending over.

Beautifull work. Thanks for the video. I learned alot from watching it.

@Puffpuffmagic420 Building inspector just told me hot tar and mop is being outlawed. I asked him where just here in Texas and he shrugged his shoulders and said maybe everywhere. Hot tar is a royal pain in the ass.

@SendinK9 not very professional,your supposed to degranulate 6inches on your end pieces ;and cut your corners ;didn"t they ever see a cane to pull the rolls instead of walking on them?
-
OMG! Where I roof (Canada) , you wouldn't be allowed to even connect the torch to a propane bottle!

Torch is horrible. Use hot tar and the mop, It will last longer and be done a hell of a lot quicker. With the right crew of course.

i realy dont think this guy has a clue, im sorry but feet are for walking and dancing on not for laying torch-on felt,be a man use a smaller torch and bend down so you can see the bead of bitumen coming out ths seam this prodding and stamping with feet seams to be a yankee thing yous wouldnt get a job in scotland as this wouldnt be good enouph,SORRY
Very nice job guys, I am in the construction business ( 30 years) here in the USA and seen lots of buildings, you guys did a great job on this roof, that is a nice tight seal and will never leak. Single layer base with single layer torch down. I would like to know the name of the grey final roll you guys are using, seems all I have seen is black with no granules, is there a product name for that final roll.

@SendinK9
Thanks for your Comment. The final layer is called Flintlastic GTA white made by Certain Teed.
Flintlastic GTA is available in 8 colors plus white to complement the most popular CertainTeed shingles.

This horrible, real bad torching. If you can stand on the roll while doing this and not leave marks, you dont have enough heat. Fuckin yankees

1) Yes, seams should be staggered. 2) Yes, it's ok to stand on roll while torching but not recommended. Stand opposite salvage edge, flat bottomed work boots a must. 3) Its very, very dangerous to apply rolls walking backwards for obvious reasons. 4) Very neat roof, good job there but you are not applying primer to any metal to adhere rolls. Within 6 months to a year the material will separate from metal. I'm a repair tech in metro Detroit area for 30+ yrs. I've seen & repaired everything.

@bobadams01
Asphalt primer was applied to all metal surfaces
