Possibly the best thing Meades has ever done. His incandescent contempt for Nazism is a thing to behold, and a much better reaction that the sort of hushed horror usually found in documentaries on the subject.

I don't know how it's dangerous - contempt and racism are nothig new to the current public mindset and attitude. They exist and are heinous; there is no danger of them developing further as conditions since they already exist. Why specifically against Germans should it transcend the boundary into danger? What's so special about them?

From 8:00 - "there was no reason to impose the past on the present", when in fact our own English architecture does this all the time, all over England. Starting with the Victorian's resurrection of the Gothic, we've had mock-Tudor, mock-Georgian, mock-Edwardian, etc on every housing estate across the country. English domestic architecture is a perfect example of the past imposed on the present.

I agree, and it is a sad fact that all that is best in German culture - that of Goethe or Schiller, etc, which is meant for humanity as a whole, has become ignored, and (perhaps?) modern Germany has lost its way and its cultural confidence.

The only problem with it is that his obvious contempt for Nazis and Nazism often spills over into contempt for Germans as a people. That's dangerous and unwarranted.

This is probably the funniest documentary I have ever seen. It is his total contempt for the people he is talking about. This contempt leads to some very funny exaggerations.
