  • is that a string section, or a mellotron?

  • @gmoop12 It's a mellotron!

  • My favorite bruce song...it has a different whole sound to it, as with the whole wild, innocent, and the e street shuffle album. David Sancious work was incredible and his intro in this song is amazing. This is a great version of the song. Thanks for the great post as always MsBruce.

  • @BornTooRun89 You're welcome and thanks to you too!:-)

  • I'd swim through an ocean of shit to see Bruce & the band during this time.

    Absolutely amazing.

Bruce's voice at this time was the best...

  • Quite possibly - the greatest song ever written...

  • Saw Bruce 3 or 4 times at Max's during this period. Always loved this line-up of the band. Brings back great memories...One of these shows had Hall & Oates opening when "Abandoned Luncheonette" was released. Paid $5.50 for the show .. those were the days..First saw Bruce in Steelmill at the shore..Thanks Msbrucejuice for the posting!!!

  • @gmoop12

this is merely great! music at its best.

  • "Bruce Springsteen".... The mold was broken!!

  • @peterbobeter Its my favorite Springsteen song, but I dont think its his best. Its an unfuckingbelievable piece of music, dont get me wrong, but Kitty's Back, The E Street Shuffle, and especially Rosalita all trump this one by an inch, and that's only looking at other songs on the album. Just shows you that Springsteen truly is in that rare category of geniuses who, even at the bottom of their catalogues, have songs that some of us would give an arm and a leg to write.

  • A LEGEND!!

  • I saw Bruce an the E st band in 74.. they played over 3 hrs.. I was worn out but God.. they kicked ass.. Bruce still had a beard.. ... My favorites song by him..

  • Absolutely stunning...a perfect portrayal of 70's NYC.
