The Civil War wasn't fought over slavery, it was fought over unity. The South wasn't happy with the Union and the Union wasn't happy with the South.

And this particular Confederacy in this show is more like the ex-Confederacy.

I think most Youtube users have seen videos where the comments are dominated by two angry individuals insulting each other back and forth. You managed to avoid that. The Confederates were also the far better soldiers than the Union, but sadly the North had a bigger supply line.

@valiare1947 Are you a complete retard?. The South fought to keep the homeland, as for slavery hell everyone kept slaves even the Indians kept slaves. Why else did Lincoln say "if I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would".

The whole reasone the war started was becouse the North was over taxing the south and people with money said no more and do as people do at times pick up arms. But was a great movie series and to bad the show never got a true chance.I loved watching it.
