Elbert County Rocky Mountain Airpark

Elbert County commissioners approved the movement of runway at Rocky Mountain Airpark right over our homes. Im wondering how this was approved? Part II Section 17, Item A, 3 from the BOCC minutes 9/15/04 read "Runways shall be so oriented that aircraft landing and taking off do not pass directly over dwellings, schools, churches or other places of public assembly." These videos clearly show the planes are flying directly overy my house.

Bwahahahaha! You poor fool built your house on the end of a runway, and now you're complaining! I bet the runway was there long before your house too. What a typical spoiled, holier-than-thou attitude. You didn't do your homework, couldn't afford the lot you really wanted, and now for whatever the reason, you want someone else to pay. Unfortunately this seems an all too typical holier-than-thou NIMBY attitude. Sad.

Just what we need more NIMBYs who hate the personal freedoms (flying) this great country affords us, and will work hard to make sure his fellow citizens can't enjoy the fruits of their labor without government acting as parental guardian. Looks like you have one of the best views in the county, if you ask me. Move back to California and sell your land to a real freedom-loving Coloradoan. Quit hiding under the "safety" horse-pucky and just say you don't like airplanes if you don't like airplanes.
