The Williams River flooded Route 103 in Rockingham, Vermont, closing the road. This horseback rider rode through the flood water to deliver a bag of medicine, and then went back across.

  • I'm a registered veterinary technician, a horsewoman, and a respiratory therapist. Nothing wrong with asking your horse friend to cross that area. Clearly a very good horse -- plenty of sense. And certainly, nothing wrong in asking the horse to try it in order to help or save a human life. NOTHING. Kudos to the horse and the "walking dead" rider. And shame on those who criticized him for risking injury/lives in order to help others.

  • it's been over a week since this happened and I havn't had internet till today. So...What do I have to say about all ove this.? Thank you to Traveler, I love you, your my best friend and I couldn't have done it without you. I never ask you to do more then I think you can. and you never try to do more then I can handle either.

  • To all of the naysayers: heros are the ones who show up and do - not the ones who stand back and watch. If you are the latter, you are pretty much useless to the former...

  • Horse and rider -- working as one. The horse uses his sure footing to find his way across. The rider gives the horse more weight to counteract the buoyancy of the water. No drama. All's well that ends well.

    I love horses.

  • I hope Traveler got a bunch of carrots after that effort.

  • @Travelerandfrisco I love this video. Traveler look alot like my horse Dragon. Great Job! Horses love to jobs and you gave a very important job to save lives. And as far as the woman saying this isn't a natural river scenario. She's correct, these are not rapids and alot safer. Thank you!

  • How awesome!!! What a good horse. Saving lives and helping where no one else could. Now that is a good purpose!!!

  • @stephanieborrelli

Oh shut up. Horses have been used for such purposes for thousands of years....OMG a horse crossed a flooded street to deliver medication to sick people! How horrible! Why don't you focus your attention on more pressing issues...

  • @Travelerandfrisco i admire you for doing this

give traveler a hug and carrot for me :)

  • i love it

  • @stephcottxc one of the houses on the right was mine, it was under a foot of water by the time this video was taken. I'm the rider on the horse, his name is Traveler.
