CDs, DQ, GQs, TGs broadly, I think you deserve recognition for your struggle.

  • The notion that transsexual women are somehow privileged over anyone else demonstrates a real ignorance about what "privilege" is.

What you're probably referring to is "passing privilege". I pass, as do you, and for that reason you have a pretty easy time of it. But cross-dressers and drag queens typically pass as cisgendered (and get all that privilege), or for drag queens, experience the oppression experienced by most effeminate gay men.

  • Clearly your understanding of privilege is myopic, one dimensional and limited. I don't have time nor desire to explain it to you so have a nice day. There is a distinction between global privilege and intra-community privilege.

  • icecoldbath it's not whats in their heads that matter ..... but what is in mine. You will never please everyone in this life even as a straight hetrosexual! All I need to understand is I am who I am and the world will have to deal with their problem ! Thanks for you comment! Big Hugs, Crystal.

  • But my point is that it is *us* against *them*. If we don't acknowledge there is an us then we might as well just get used to their abuse.

  • Hi Ashley, I'm was transexual, now I'm just a girl! Your right! I remember the hate and violence I saw in my transition days and remember thinking why are you so angry about who I am? Crossdressers are exploring who they are! Isn't that where most transexual came from? I think we should have national "Hug a crossdresser day", after all mainstream society thinks we are all perverts! Bi hugs to all, Crystal.

  • Yeah the important fact is that in this world, none of us ever stop being transsexuals. According to everyone in power, we are all fags and thats all that matters.

  • You said "two-spirited", a Native-American term.

    We thank you.

  • Hi, I just wanted to say thank you for your blog. I am a medical student and we learned briefly about LGBT issues but it was very limited. I can't remember how I stumbled upon your blog but after watching all of your videos I feel I have a better understanding of or at least an introduction to what you are going through. I just wanted to say thanks for helping to make me a better future physician and I wanted to say thanks also from any future patients I may have.

  • victims..aren't we all

  • Wait wait wait! I remember you said in a previous video that you were 100% a woman. Maybe put an annotation over that video if you changed your mind. Sorry, I forgot which video it was. Also, I might just be pointing out something that is inconsequential.

  • Thanks a lot for posting this. I pretty much totally fit into the crossdresser/ genderqueer gray area. I used to walk around in skirts and dresses with no intention of passing and I got quite a lot of shit for it. pretty much every other car would yell things at me, i was chased a few times, but I was lucky enough to avoid serious harm. It was enough to make me stop doing it in public though.

  • You used the term cisgendered improperly. In this context, you should have said cissexual. As a cross-dresser myself, I am cissexual, but I am most certainly not cisgendered.

  • "If we could just eliminate all the cisgender people" I know I'm equivocating on the word "eliminate" by quote mining that, but that just seems like something you'd paste into an "Ashley is a Nazi" video or something like that

  • I usually agree with you but am a little at odds with this awkward topic.

LBGT folks are on a journey towards a life long lifestyle that consumes their persona 24/7.

Folks like CD's,DQ's etc do not have the same intentions. That does not make their plight lesser but definately demands a different type of respect,no?

  • I herd that from a film 'Transamerica' ..great film.

  • awesome, Ahley :-)

even though I feel that in the ftm communities, there is actually more priviledge for the genderqueer and less for the ftm transsexuals, I know what you are talking about and I agree with you. I hope we all can get together one day and not loose energy wth fighting or discriminating each other anymore.

  • Did you ever stop to think why there is a separation? Did it ever dawn on you that there is no link? Did it ever occur to you that G.I.D. is there to separate the 5% from 95% that do not have a biological basis for changing sex?

  • I love you there is nothing wrong with you. You are a human being with the right to become happy. Do it your way. God bless you
