  • I've been thinking about buying this program, but do not know what it fully does. Could you please explain to me what it is used for exactly?

  • @KyockLee123 - You're looking at an older version in this video, but the product has been constantly updated. Fireworks is an easier interface to work with for web graphics. It has a lot of features for prototyping for web designs to use with clients. Currently, Fireworks AND Photoshop come with the Web CS5 Suite. Download it and try it for 30 days before you buy it.

  • @PalmBreezeCAFE Thank you, but I already have Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver CS3. Isn't Dreamweaver used for web graphics?

  • @KyockLee123 No. Dreamweaver is for creating the pages. The graphics have to be created elsewhere. Dreamweaver does do round-trip editing with Fireworks. You click on a graphic on your page, edit in Fireworks and on your return to DW it's updated. There are lots of great features.

  • hey,

whats the difference between Fireworks and illustrator?

Because you can do actually the same with illustrator.

  • @Tutorialviewer Fireworks is easier for web-based graphics and has nice optimization features. It doesn't have all the heavy, high-end features of Illustrator and is more straight-forward in basics. It also does round-trip editing and optimization with Dreamweaver.
