"An Outline of Intellectual Rubbish" - Bertrand Russell (part 1 of 2)
Excerpt from 'The Portable Atheist' where Christopher Hitchens cites Bertrand Russell and his essay "Why I am Not a Christian". (Narrated by Nicholas Ball)
@MrSamySara That's good rhetoric on your part but erroneous. Swapping out 'hate' for 'disdain' is a waste of time when writings and debates of Hitchens' own voice is readily available. He hated with vehemence and that is all.
@cliffandy Hitchen's career in denouncing religion and Islam in particular was a product of the September 11th attacks(as hes admitted). Resentment towards Islam is becoming an international phenomenon... and its absurd for you to believe Hitchens is to blame. The constituents of many nations are TIRED of suppressing free speech merely to avoid the violent repercussions of Islam. Hitchens views were not polemic. Islam articulates hate, Hitchens articulated disdain. You sir are a fool
@cliffandy You confuse Islamaphobia with a fear of Muslims. Hitchens feared ISLAM. Obviously he was wary of Christians however they dont have a primary objective that entails taking over the world by any means necessary and the enslavement of the minds and bodies of half of the world’s population(the women). He never once suggested we kill Muslim’s as Hitler did with the Jews you fool. He merely wanted to create awareness and outrage to prevent the inhumane practices of ANY religion.
So I hear Hitchens plans on "evolving" to try and escape hell. We only have to wait a couple of billion years to see if his theory is correct. Don't give up, Hitchens! All the atheists up here are supporting you- I'm sure it helps!
