Sips, there doesn't seem to be much strategy in what you are doing. You just seem to be thinking "hey I like spike traps" Which won't get you far at all. Mix the tar and spike traps, as well as placing arrow walls around tar traps to maximize the potential for the arrows walls. It gives the arrow walls time to recharge between shots.
Oh and... this is coming from me, a person who has not played this game at all. It's just called general strategic thinking. Use traps to your advantage.
