This carefully worded bill will eventually abolish freedom of speech. Call your Senators and tell them to oppose this bill.

  • This idiot almost makes me ashamed to be a Texan.

"A special class of protected people who maybe shouldn't have protection" Here he betray the extremity of his bias. In his opinion, LGBT Americans (& maybe African-Americans, he doesn't specify) should not be protected from violence.

Note he makes the typcial bigoted implication that gays are pedophiles.

He also lies outright: pedophilia, necrophilia, etc. are not classified in the DSM as "sexual orientations," they are "paraphilias."

  • Ok, and I have to say one more thing. To the poster - this bill "will eventually abolish freedom of speech"?! That's quite a stunning transformation for a piece of legislation to undergo when no one's looking. Damn those sneaky, carefully worded pieces of paper with their secret agendas and powers of transmutation. Thank goodness you, RestoreConstitution8, know what the rest of us don't and are so graciously willing to warn us, so that we can be suitably terrified. C'mon, really?

  • Now, I haven't read the bill itself (and I'll go ahead and assume that none of you posting on here have either - please correct me if you have), but the two hypotheticals he uses just flat out don't seem plausible. No one ANYWHERE is going to convict a lady who hits a flasher with her purse of a hate crime, no matter what you say. Nor do any of the thousands (millions?) of religious homophobes out there need to lose sleep for fear that they'll be arrested for quoting the Bible or the Qur'an.

  • @lousinup You really think that when Senators were appointed instead of elected, their constituents had more of a chance to influence them? Not sure where the logic is in that. Either way, it's clear that the lobbyists have too much power and the people too little. And I'll grant you that Louie seems to call 'em like he sees 'em, which I applaud. Of course, everything I've ever heard him say makes him sound deranged to me. Principles are great. Principles + grasp of reality? Even better.

  • @yodder89 The 17th is the cause of the "Whitehouse establishment". It made Government more centralized, just as the Liberals planned. The House and Senate started scratching each others back. Our founding fathers new this and they went to great lengths to break up a big circle jerk in D.C.. The 17th amendment took power away from the states. You would be able to influence your Senator if he was appointed locally. Now they just wheel and deal with the lobbyist and the House Reps.

  • @lousinup just watch the clip of him on anderson cooper; when he doesn't have a prepared statement, as he does here, he is a bumbling idiot. i actually concur with him on this particular issue, and don't support most of what Obama has done - i'm a registered independent. the main reason for that is because im sick and tired of partisan games (like the ones you are trying to play in your response to me, with 0 knowledge of my political leanings). oh and if you don't think halliburton is evil, hah

  • @TheWatsonGreen 'terror babies' is a soundbite that Liberals keep shouting whenever Gohmert wants to debate the lack of border security. Just shout any of these and you will make a fine Liberal. 'terror babies' "WMDs'", "Bush Lied People Died", "Baby Killers", "Big Oil", "Halliburton", "We inherited a mess"

  • @lousinup oh, like the truth he 'poured' out about 'terror babies'? get a clue.
