Some people have genes that are more resilient to addiction. Others are more vulnerable. But even those with vulnerable genes can adapt.

  • "Those who are demoniac do not know what is to be done and what is not to be done. Neither cleanliness nor proper behavior nor truth is found in them."[Bhagavad Gita As It is 16: The Devine and Demoniac Natures, Text 7]

Well God decides, which kind of body you have to take birth in. If you are unlucky, you take birth in a demoniac family and are prone to sinful activities. But anybody can turn to Lord Krishna and change his life by his causeless mercy

  • @TheCface

They aren't pointing the finger elsewhere, when they are pointing to their brain they are actually pointing at themselves.

Why are you taking drugs all the time? That shows you have a weak will and all that "personal responsibility" taking won't help you overcome your addictions. Knowing how the brain and your own mind works will.

  • @explorer2101 It takes a strong mind and heart to realise one has a problem

  • @BeauJames59 oh I get it.

  • @therealmcnulty you ha' destroy me wif your amaaaaazing insight....the scientific method is saf wif you guarding it! science rulz, thanks to you!

  • @BeauJames59 the logic you just described in your post would mean the scientific method is obsolete but you provided no alternative method of research. money is required for the most part to research ideas and theories regardless of whether or not someone deems them as acceptable ideas/theories.

  • @therealmcnulty duh!

  • @BeauJames59 huh?

  • I agree that recovery is powerful, but that does not necessarily mean that a person can pass that on to his child, since an act of will cannot become incorporated into the genetic structure. Skinny people can bodybuild into thick hulking ogres, but their skinny genes still pass on to their offspring. Parents can use the tools of recovery to model good behavior, mature choices, and a spiritual outlook for his children, though, and these are strong tools to fight the potential for addiction.

  • only users lose drugs
