can someone tell me what the advancement is like for this field? i leave for boot camp november 1st im signed up as a nuke now but the more i think about it it feels like im doing it just for the money and i would love a job like this instead

I was a member of Combat Camera 1966-1969. It was great then and looks even better now.

i want to do this. im 20, been considering coast guard, but i also would like to stay in school and major in photography/photojournalism and holy shit, this is exactly what i want to now. crap. i'd have to sacrifice a lot and a lot of people in my family won't like it because they're all against anything military (except for coast guard i guess) these days. but this is awesome. i would love to do this stuff, and then i could easily get a job doing civilian work in this field with that experience

It was and still is a great job! US NAVY has the overall best Combat Camera Teams. So if you want to do this kind of work, Go Navy!
