I've had this Nokia E52 for about a year now. It has never had any problems until recently. It randomly hangs and sometimes doesn't want to boot.

My theory is that it is overheating for some reason... Not really sure though... But if that is the case I'm very disappointed with nokia for making a phone not capable of working in normal summer conditions ~20-25 C. Anybody else experienced issues like this with a Nokia E52?

I'm very sad about this because the E52 is a very good phone when it's working as it should!

Update: I sent my E52 to Nokia service and they replaced my phone without explaining why it crashed. Hope this one works.

  • Hmmm... No idea, never encountered that problem.

  • i have e52 too and when i try opening youtube it sends me to real player and never opens the vid...it keeps saying loading....i use opera, and the oem browser too...what can i do??

  • @vtec2907 I'm not sure... Haven't encountered that problem. Tried updating the firmware?

  • I had this very same problem with my E52 last summer when it was hot, and I often kept the phone in the fridge so it wouldn't crash. But during the fall, winter and spring it works just fine. But I will get a new phone before this summer appears for sure, not gonna experience this again.

  • @burkmat Okay, nice to know I'm not the only one who has experienced this! I am very disappointed. In my opinion a phone in this prize range should not have any problems like this. :/

  • @Leyphaen There's a thread about it on Nokias forum here; discussions.mea.nokia.com/t5/Eseries-and-Communicators/E52-overheating-issues/td-p/725909

  • @burkmat Yeah, thx. As you might notice I've commented there already ;)

  • i have that problem with my e55. I turned it off and tried turning back on and it vibrates but does not boot. Three days now trying. anyone has any ideas as to why it would just don't boot? or any solutions?

  • the problem is in the software (firmware) of your mobile not your cell phone. cell phone is pretty much ok! you need to go to some mobile shop and ask them to update or reinstall your firmware, or just connect to nokia pc suite and update your software, this might help i guess :)

  • The thought had crossed my mind but one day the phone stopped booting at all. I couldn't do anything else than go to the local Nokia dealer and send it to service. All Nokia did was replace my phone and didn't tell me what the problem had been. The new phone I got has worked perfectly (so far) :)
