  • I dismantled the receiver from the underside. The hot shoe part of the receiver can then be unscrewed from behind the circuit board. The receiver is destroyed, though, because I had to break some sort of connection to get behind the board. Prior to doing this, it seemed to work well. The flash never fired w/o warning. I am a novice when it comes to manual flash settings, so nothing looked good, but that is my fault. I am sending this one back for a replacement.

  • I was given the "OK" by Gadget Infinity to take the receiver apart so that I can get it off my flash. I may look at an alternative between the Cactus and Pocket Wizard. The v4 doesn't operate in TTL, and I am not very good with doing manual flash.

  • Howdy did you ever get the Cactus V4 off? What are your impressions of the Cactus trigger system? Does it misfire alot? Does it work anygood?
